I’ve been designing, drawing, doodling and creating for over three decades. Oddly enough, I still look very young. (Hey, I am allowed my delusions now and then.)
Working on a wide array of projects has taught me many things. One of the most important lessons – having done projects for diverse clients like Pasadena Playhouse, Four Seasons Hotels, Marie Callender’s, Schlage Locks, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the Tropicana Hotel – they all have one thing in common, the best advertising design is required for every project promoting anything.
The past nine years, I have worked as art director for Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) in Walnut, California. I love working on the promotion of education. Can there be any promotional task more worthwhile?
I want to share stories, tips and ideas with other designers, especially other college designers. While design and marketing share many of the same laws and tenets, no matter who the work is for, college promotional design work has some unique situations.
My hope is that by many sharing and posting on this blog we will all reap the rewards for our individual schools.
